SMWA condemns police's torture on Awaz tv Reporter

               Sindhi Media Workers Association (SMWA) has condemned the police's torture on Awaz TV reporter, Nazir Charan.
              SMWA demanded the competent authority to take strict action against police personnel of Ramna Police Station G-11 Islamabad who are involved.

SMWA condemns violation of provincial quota

            The largest circulated Sindhi Newspaper Daily Ibrat Hyderabad reported news that the non-domiciled 430000 has appointed on Sindh rural quota in the federal government, which was clearly violation of provincial quota.
            Sindhi Media Workers Association (SMWA) condemns it and demands the government to take a action against violation.

SMWA condemns discriminative attitude of PRA

Sindhi Media Workers Associations (SMWA) has condemned the discriminative
attitude of Scrutiny Committee of Parliamentary Reporter Association (PRA)
which totally ignored the Sindhi Reporters to include them in membership
list of PRA.
SMWA also demanded the explanation for including Hassan Khan in the
membership list of association on Sindh TV quota. Who is he?

SMWA to hold Mega Musical Show at Islamabad

The meeting of Executive Committee (SMWA) was held here on January 14 and it was chaired by President Asghar Khanothi.

The meeting has taken a decision to hold "Mega Musical Show" and Oath-Taking Ceremony on March 10, at Islamabad.

A 9-member committee was constituted for arrangement of this Musical program and the committee includes the members

Sindh family protest against land occupation

A 14- member family including women and children is being protesting on 4th consecutive day on Sunday at National Press Club (NPC) here against the occupation of agricultural land and houses illegally by an influential person at Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dadu, Sindh.

A victim, member of the family Dad Hussain Chandio, while talking to this agency informed that an influential person Liquat Chandio had captured their land and houses by alleging him of abducting his daughter.

He said, “Liquat along with other people entered into their houses and severely beaten up the women and children and also registered bogus cases against us.” Later the abducted girl was found from Lahore but he (Liquat) neither vacated our land and houses

nor withdrew fake cases, which were lodged against us in the local police station, he alleged.

Dad Hussain further alleged that Liaquat had threatened us for vacating the village forcefully. This issue had created a number of miseries for our family since 2007. He appealed to the government and Chief Justice of Supreme Court (SC) for justice and help.

SMWA Condemns assault on Journalists


ISLAMABAD Jan 8: Sindhi Media Workers Association (SMWA) vehemently condemned the assault on Journalists at Nawabshah by police.
            SMWA appealed the concern authorities to take stern actions against the Sub-divisional Police Officer (DSP) Ijaz Memon and other personnel; those were involved in this attempt and also provide justice to the journalists.
            SMWA declared that if the actions would not be taken against the accused, SWMA will call the protest demonstration to show the solidarity with affected Journalists.
            SMWA asserted that our deep sympathies are with the Nawabshah Journalist in this difficult situation.
